Notification of Pay & Allowances 1973 Govt. of Punjab Finance Department

Subject: GRANT OF DEARNESS ALLOWANCE TO LOW PAID EMPLOYEES OF THE GOVERNMENT

NO. FD-PR-8-12/73          Dated the 25 August 1973

Notification Having regard to the rise in the prices of essential items of consumption, the Governor of Punjab has been pleased to sanction with effect from 1st August 1973 and until further orders, Dearness Allowance at the rate of Rs.35 per month to Government servants under the rulemaking control of the Government of Punjab, ministry of finance, drawing pay up to Rs.700 per month, with marginal adjustments for that drawing pay between Rs.700 per month and Rs.35 per month, subject to the following conditions:

i)  For the purpose of their orders Notification, the pay shall mean pay as defined in Rule 2.44 of the Civil Services Rules Punjab Volume-I, Part-I, plus overtime allowance plus fee plus gross pension (i.e. pension before commutation and/or surrender of ¼ the thereof) plus where admissible, ad hot/interim relief and dearness pay. maternity allowance

ii)  Drawl of the Dearness Allowance Notification during leave will be regulated by the orders as in force in this regard before 1^st December 1962.

2. These orders shall also apply to the whole-time work and contingencies-paid employees, but shall not apply to persons employed on daily wages or price rate basis. basic pay

3. In referring cases to the Anomalies Committee, the Administrative Departments should forward six complete sets of the papers containing the above information to the Secretary of the Committee.

4. The Anomalies Committee shall consider the cases referred to it in a series of meetings of schedule of which will be notified later.

5. The Anomalies Committee shall only be a recommending body. The final decision on the recommendations of this Committee will be taken by the Government. ministry of finance
